How We Analyze Your Shots

Ball Speed

Using high-speed camera-imaging, we directly measure ball speed with pinpoint accuracy the moment the ball leaves the clubface

Launch Angle

Our systems can precisely measure the ball's launch angle during impact to provide critical data for ball trajectory and performance

Spin Calculation

By combining measured ball speed and launch angle with advanced physics and our AI-based algorithms, we can correctly calculate spin dynamics - which includes backspin, sidespin, and total spin with remarkable accuracy

Physics-Based AI

Ball Speed Measurement

We measure the velocity of the ball immediately after impact using our high-speed dual-camera system. This gives us an accurate baseline for how fast the ball is traveling.

Launch Angle Measurement

Our system precisely captures the angle at which the ball leaves the clubface. This is crucial for understanding the ball's initial trajectory.

Calculating Algorithm

Using these two key data points (ball speed and launch angle), our AI-powered algorithms calculate the spin by applying principles of ball flight physics. Here's what is factored in:

  • Lift and Drag Forces: The ball's speed and angle influence how air interacts with the dimples, creating lift (for backspin) and drag.
  • Spin Decay: As the ball travels, spin naturally slows due to friction with the air. This is modeled accurately in our calculations.
  • Aerodynamic Behavior: We simulate how spin affects the ball's curve, height, and roll based on its trajectory.
Where Does AI-Factor In?

High-Speed Image Analysis: AI-powered machine learning models are trained on vast datasets of golf ball trajectories, spins, and launch angles. Using cameras that capture high frame rates, the system can detect patterns in the ball’s movement.

Tracking Subtle Movements: While the camera captures up to 1000 frames per second, AI algorithms analyze the ball's exact position and speed in each frame, tracking its motion precisely through the swing. Even small changes in the ball's trajectory or behavior are accounted for, leading to highly accurate measurements.

Machine-Learning Model Training

Over time, AI models get better by learning from massive amounts of data. These models become increasingly proficient in predicting spin based on ball speed and launch angle, thus improving the system’s ability to estimate spin even when high-speed cameras can't directly observe it.

AccuGOLF indoor golf simulators

Our Journey

Jamie Nguyen, a golf enthusiast from Salt Lake City, harbored dreams of playing on the Asian Tour. His journey took a pivotal turn when he returned to Vietnam in 2009, fueled by a vision to introduce indoor golf simulators and contribute to the growth of the game.

Encountering initial challenges in a market unfamiliar with indoor golf, Jamie pressed on. In 2012, he established a golf company, distributing various simulator brands. However, frustrations arose due to the unreliability, inaccurate and high costs of existing systems.

Undeterred by setbacks, Jamie returned to the U.S. in 2019, reuniting with software engineer friends. Their collective mission was clear: develop an accurate, reliable, and versatile golf simulator.

AccuGOLF stands as a testament to Jamie and his team's resilience, innovation, and unwavering commitment to making accurate golf simulation accessible to golfers worldwide. Join us on this remarkable journey  where golf meets precision, and the joy of the game knows no bounds.
